I was screaming when KR overtook GF, this is definitely one of the more exciting races of the year, though I'm pretty disappointed JPM had to crash out early.

I thought MS drove brilliantly with a slower car, and I think it's useless to debate which (KR or FA) is better, because from what I have seen today, they're as fast as each other. FA was very smart in his overtaking MS, and KR was under pressure to overtake GF with 1 lap remaining and he did a great job.

Absolutelly agree. Both FA and KR has been brilliant, we are lucky to have them and MS at the same time. They are pure class, speed and have huge balls...

Splendid race!

A shame that Fisico doesnt have the race skills of Alonso and loose the race in last lap, but renault is back in the top again and Kimi will have a severe used engine, so nobody knows.

Another star of the race:

SATO, he is back again, the Bashing will be hard this week...please Sato lovers...stay away.

Go Renault!

Ps. Alonso said that the strategy failed for him dramatically but the car was even faster than Kimi

me too. i was loving that short spell of the race when all 3 were lined up, that was excellent. alonso seemed to have the upper hand, and then both m$ and kimi came out in front of alonso after the stops! bizarre! then alonso taking m$ again and kimi streaking away to chase after button, webber and eventually fisi, with alonso in his wake. awesome! webber also had a fantastic race!

JV has f**ked up JPMs race though... I wonder what Montoya would have done if he hadn't had to retire.

I disagree, I think JPM f**ked his own race. More of that later on though. First things first, what a brilliant race, absolutely fantastic. If anyone needed any convincing that the new generation has well and truly arrived, they need look no more as both Kimi and Alonso drove circles around Michael. Although during the coverage, Brundle did say that it seemed as though Michael had a wet setup considering his lack of speed, can any of the tifosi or anyone else on here confirm or deny this?

Both Fernando and Kimi drove exceptional races and produced some sublime overtaking maneouveres. Watching Alonso going around Michael at the outside of 130R took me back to Estoril '96 and that move JV did on Michael. I'm not going to compare the two as that deserves another thread, but it was fantastic. As was his other move on him at the outside of turn 1, and Kimi's move to win the race.

I don't know what was wrong with Fisi but he really had that race won. He went defensive for no reason as Kimi wasn't close enough to attack, but I can see why he did so. Nonetheless a brilliant drive from P17 by Kimi. Very good performances by Webber and DC, especially the latter considering his machinery. As for Button, he did a good job and I'm not going to turn this into another Button bashing thread, but he should have beaten Webber considering their machinery.

Sato lived up to expectations again and crashed into someone. A pretty rotten race for him, but I guess he's counting his lucky stars that Honda are dumb enough to give him another drive next year with this 'b' team should it eventuate.

Now, onto the big topic, for me and JPM fans anyways. First, the incident was unfortunate and probably cost JPM a podium finish. However, I've seen the incident quite a few times, and the more I see it, the more I think JV was not at fault. JPM said that JV has gone off into the grass at the chicane and was running wide. He should thus have known that JV would have little grip and would probably have a significant amount of understeer for a while due to this.

The way I saw it was JPM tried an overambitious move around the outside, on the dirty line. JPM was not right alongside JV and as JV himself said, in a right hand corner, you don't look left. As for Ron Dennis' comments, after reading him sulk and b!tch and moan about Kimi losing and backmarkers and the like, the guy has little credibility in my eyes. His comment about the WDC being only a badge is only p**sing on the achivements of other World Champs and I have no dbout he'd rate it alot higher had his little Kimi won it.

Anyways, both drivers were keen to blame the other (surprise, surprise), but the FIA handed JV a 25 second penalty. No biggie really as it only dropped him one spot, although it means he'll be one car earlier in quali for Shanghai.

Yea a great race (DC called it "WWF Racing"), we should always put the fastest cars at the back!

Indeed, it would make things interesting.

We could have it that the cars are split into two groups, top 10, bottom 10.

The top 10 would qualify first, in order of last race results 1st - 10th.

They only play for positions 11 - 20 on the grid. The bottom ten (11 - 20 last race) shot out for positions 1 - 10.

Would make for alot of interesting moments.

Kimi was luckier than Alonso. (about time I suppose)

The FIA destoyed FA's race though with the Klien incident(Cost him about 15secs' in all, plus track position after his first stop).

But I must admit Mclaren gave Kimi a much better thought out strategy than Renault to Alonso. Everytime FA came out the pits he was stuck in traffic.

Alonso, Raikkonen showed their class though and proved to all that the are the two top men in F1!

Fantastic race for all F1 fans (one must wonder if the proper quali format is to have the top cars run in rain and the watch them storm from the last 3 rows in the race). FA and Kimi are the new generation (but FA move on Shumi at 130R is a thing of beauty). After all the Flavio bashing in here, it was funny to see Dennis almost pee himself with all the excitement he had when he greeted Kimi, I mean, the guy moved more than a belly dancer!

Sure he believes that, that's why he's been trying so hard for so many years to get his overrated kid that very title.... :eusa_think: I wonder if he thought of it that way when Mika and his other champion drivers won it?

Whole thing stinks of even more sour grapes than his endless excuses for poor defenceless Kimi <_<
