Bmw For Real

Recommended Posts

With the impressive display of NH driving the BMW it appears as if they may in fact have gotten a few things right.

JV and NH have both generated very good times in the car, and more importantly it has been bullet proof. If these testing time mean anything, it means they are very close to the front runners, much closer then I thought they would be. This is going to be quite the season. Still a long way to go to know exactly what is going on, but make no mistake, the entry from BMW this year looks to be a challenger.

The reliablity is a big thing. When your car comes off the carrier and it runs flawlessly out of the box, you have much time to fine tune and work on aero bits. This will be an advantage, and allow then to put distance between them and the other midpack cars. Who knows they may very well be in the hunt for a podium. Two fast reliable cars with good drivers can earn some points.

As far as I know the new car has had zero issues, and is fast. Very promising.

Indeed after 4 days of testing and tweaking the F1.06 NH was able to score some very very very good times today! Beating out the Honda's and the Renaults is damn good! Again this is testing but still, like you said they seem to have gotten their stuff together pretty good!

They also have prety good reliability however one thing has been bugging me just a bit -not the reported/rumours of apperently having some vibrations issues- is that the shark gills in the back are always burnt to sh*t after a testing session. They might have a few heat problems when it comes to latter races in hot conditions but I think they could fix this easily.

Anyways I am still very surprised and quite excited to see how they will do! Definitly a team to look forward to and that I will be proud to call my fav!

All the teams have packaged the rear end tightly to take advantage of the smaller engine, which may account for the overheating scenario. Honda have sprouted gills where there were none before.

Both Nick and Jacques have driven rather well in testing, whilst the car is quick and reliable. Reliability will be vital early on so this is a good sign. I really cannot wait until the season starts, I just want to know where BMW, and Jacques, are for real!

I would love to see them have a win, but I dont think they can. A few years ago you only had 2 teams capable of winning races and if they both had reliabilty problems in the one race then you may have got an outsider win. But based on 2005 and what we have seen in testing there are too many good teams that would need to faulter for them to have a win. I just hope that when they have the car capable that Jacques is still around to have one.

Let down? To be let down you'd have to have major expectations. All we expect is for Jacques to be respectable, something which I am sure he will be. Once the season starts, I'll alter my expectations accordingly. If he does well, then great, if not, then he goes out with alot more than more hyped drivers have ever done.

BMW definitly seem to have gotten something right is we can base ourselves on the overall testing sessions they have had. They have always surclassed Toyota and Red-Bull.....and well it too early to say but also Williams so far! Would really be nice if they could do the same during the season!

Possible 4th or 5th constructor championship place?!?

Plus they are pumping out new aero pieces every test sessions and are running longer and longer shifts at the wind tunnel. They also are expected to have a new aero kit by Bahrain! :)

Yes it would, That would be a fantastic achivement in their first season. And with a smaller budget than Toyota ^_^

I suppose Toyota would probably beat them in the end,but yes,I think they are one out of three teams likely to challenge for the postion from 4th to 6th in the WCC: McLaren,Toyota and of course Sauber
