How Great Is Your Nation?

Recommended Posts

Its all acedemic over here anyway the national speed limit here is only 80 kph!

Geez that is draconian. How do you ever get anywhere, you probably leave for the supermarket, give up halfway and come back and ride the donkey :D

Seriously, that is really awful, what's with the Swiss, all forms of circuit racing is banned too isn't it? How do you have fun?

80 kph is approximately 50 MPH, and thats the fastest anyone would need to go anywhere apart from on a motorway

Need to? NEED TO? It is the principle of the thing, if you set the speed limit too low, drivers fall asleep at the wheel and crash. Speeding saves lives -_-

Thats right all types of circuit racing are banned because of that awful crash at Le Mans in the 50s.

If you want to race over here there is only really karting.

I,ll have to get myself to the Nurburgring next year.

100 kph seems fast to me now :(

In a car that is anemically slow. Maybe in a kart it seems fast though... Actually, even then it wouldn't see fast. Indoors then, perhaps.

I've heard that in India you can just run people over and keep going... True?

Fantastic Russ. I always think blind corners, juctions are the most dangerous places on the road. Therefore one should aim to spend as little time as possible there and so just drive as fast as one possibly can straight through. Above all don't stop to look where you're going, that doubles the time available for an accident.

You just honk. That is waht you do in India, the horn is the one part of the car taht must always work fine. If you honk loudly and incessantly as you go through it all becomes Someone Else's Problem.

No Bajo not true.

Ya andas Cav said hoking is a major part of driving a car in bombay, you just honk and most of the times ppl know not to cross then(otherwise i have toapply brakes) and when i want to drive at high speeds i either do it early morning, that way many ppl are not around.

It's not that bad Bruce. You've just got to know where they are. And we do. Only idiots get caught by them these days. Stick to the twisties and you're fine.

Yes, what you have to remember is that the Govt say they only put them where they will reduce the number of accidents, save lives, etc - far be it from me to doubt them, but then why aren't there speed cameras by every school?? :eusa_think: However, they only put them where they are going to make money and they will never recuperate the cost of putting them on the 'twisties', let alone make money from them!!
