Sorry Pabloh, if you were being sarcastic or ironic, I didn't catch it. Problem is, many people espouse the same beliefs in earnest, and without knowing you, I didn't realize you were not one of them.

Nevertheless, I am not saying that something is wrong with the system and it needs changing, nor am I saying that it is perfect. I am simply saying that it is the system that exists, and so long as that is the case, those who are forced to proceed through it can not be blamed for using whatever mechanisms that exist within it to limit the encroachment on their liberty. If the perception exists that the system is in need of improvement, it is the responsibility of the citizenry to educate themselves and determine what changes need to be made.

Your political representatives have the power to change the system and are accountable to you for it, not the lawyers who work within it.

I have to dissagree, the Lawyer lobby is very powerful...........

Hello Jay. Just wandering into this interminably dull and badly spelt thread to ask could you post a photo of yourself in the appropriate thread so that I can maliciously Photoshop it. Your present offering is insufficient for my purposes. Thanks.

There is no justification for HS & NS. period. The Americans couldn't handle the concept of Bushido. They didn't (and still don't know) how to fight an enemy for whom death is irrelevant and is indeed seen as a path to glory.

Before I reply, I must say this. *clears throat*

a fan and abbas gear and others, please use spaces between sentences and capital letters, as your posts hurt they eyes of us all and will cause us to go blind much more quickly than video games will. They hurt the eyes more than Rosie O' Donnell naked. Thank you.

Now, as for Mock, what would you have done? How would you have ended the war?

Well, I had already set my stall out to say that the problem, as I saw it, was that in many high profile cases, the outcome depends on who has the best lawyer, so I thought you would have picked up on it. However, I wasn't being sarcastic, just pointing out the other side to your argument.

I can't believe it is only the responsibility of the citizens to change the system - how would ordinary citizens know what needed changing, because, as you said, the system is very complicated isn't it? I imagine most lawyers don't know the whole system, so how would you expect citizens who have even less dealings with the system, to have the knowledge on how to change the system? If you thought my view was simplistic, which I even said it was, then I think your view is even more simplistic. In fact, I don't even know in the UK whether the public has such powers - as I said to you before, I have no interest in it whatsoever, so I wouldn't even like to hazard a guess.

Unfortunately, when you have people motivated by greed, either the general public or the lawyers involved, then I think there's little hope of the system improving. People want to make a fast buck, lawyers want to make a fast buck or make a name for themselves - it's just not the ideal situation. While there may be many honest people in your profession, there are people who aren't honest and unfortunately they have altogether too much power and not enough common decency or integrity to wield that power.

Anyway, we'll have to agree to disagree, you have your view, funkejay, and I will have mine - I respect your view, even if it doesn't seem like it, but I don't really agree with it. By the way, my solution to the imperfections of the system is to not get myself in any situations that would even remotely require me to use a lawyer or be involved in the judicial system in any way, shape or form. I hope it stays that way - no offence. :D

Indeed! Well said. Trying to wade through broken English to understand many different, complicated opinions on several separate topics is too hard for many of us to bother. If you spent a few more seconds improving the presentation you would get many more replies and we'd have a more productive discussion.

As anyone can see from your Jap loving tree hugging posts in this thread, I clearly know a lot more than you about nearly anything. As long as you having fun though I suppose it doesn't matter if you look a fool to us seasoned posters on TF1.

Finally while im at it please explain how the word Japs is racist??? Wait, are the words Brits, Poms, Yankees, Pols, Aussies, Turks... all racist too!

i have been married to a japanese for 12 years and i have been living in japan for 5 1/2 years. the japanese find the term 'jap' as a degrading term that was used during world war 2. i myself use correct english when talking about another countries people. i say british, american etc.. i would also like to say how anal your very own seasoned posts are. you are very misdirected in your own beliefs.

The mind is for two things.

1. Picturing where you left your car keys.

2. Picturing people naked.

Oh, and I do wear glasses btw.

Oh, not all japanese feel that jap is a degrading term. Carlos Mencia doesn't get offended when you call him a wetback, a spic, or a beaner.

So War is the same thing? Let's just ban war while we're at it. That's it, no more war. Let people attack one another without the ones being attacked the right to defend themselves. Sure, lets just let the Japanese invade the US without us fighting back. Sure, lets let it happen.

Would you rather millions die on both sides, or just a few hundred thousand?

Like I said, 300,000<3,000,000

They were both primarily military targets.

Nice try, but you won't get a guilt trip from me or the guy that droped the bomb. He will say the same thing.

More lives were saved when the bombs were dropped than would have been lost if we had invaded.

Oh, and funkejay, realize a bit of satire when you see it. The death penalty, however, should be more painful.

Also, see my post about Bushido. The Japanese still wanted to fight after the first bomb was dropped. They did not believe in surrender. They thought it was disgraceful. There was no other choice.

I only saw this post now, I agree 100% Like I said The Japs only had themselves to blame!

And as for they sh!t head that says the word Japs Is racist, I say go swim in some shark infested waters, I don't see how its racist and will continue to call them that.

Ive got British family who I call Brits & Australian mates I call Aussies... Same thing! Not that I really take anything the poster in question says seriously anyhow... I use him a source of mere midday entertainment.
