I'm implying he's the decisive factor, that special extra that tips the scale.

No you're not. You said they would go back to where they were before he arrived, if he left. Therefore he is entirely responsible for the change in fortunes. (and tbh I don't even think McLaren were all that bad during the years you mentioned.)

my sympathies are with disgruntled button/hamilton fans like you

I have already said in this thread that Alonso is quite right to try to screw Hamilton, he just needs to make sure he doesn't get caught. Stop talking such nonsense.

Do i have to find my old post where i showed everyone that in all the seasons Coulthard and Hakkinen were teammates Hakkinen only beat Coulthard by about 10 points per season. It might be less than that but i did make that post a long time ago. Coulthard beat Hakkinen in several seasons (1997 and 2001 i think).

Well I'd like to see it anyway! :)

Yeah but even more likely is that the team will support Lewis and 'Nando will be more isolated. Of course they won't deliberately scupper him, but when it's so tight these things can make a huge difference.

No Angie I didn't, was that before or after the (in-)glorious incident in the pits?

Even I can leave it parked in the 'box Andres! Murray for WDC!

Nando is not out to seek the team's support. He is a fighter and depends only on himself which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because he owes his impressive career to no one. He had to fight from Minardi, he had to fight to earn his place at Renault, and he is fighting at McLaren. A curse, because he is clever, but not wise. These incidents only isolate him even more, and even if Ron deserved this for whatever happened before at the pitstops, Lewis certainly didn't. And by acting on impulse he might have showed Ron his place, but also, put himself on front row to being kicked out of the team.

The worst part is that not many teams would be willing to hire him, despite his genius, if he continues to prove he has such a problem with authority :what:

Interesting for me is the onstant feeling that many of the posters that feel outraged about this, in the case that the roles were reversed and LH held up FA, would have said things like "ALonso should stop crying! This is F1, he should take it, Lewis was smart and he can't complaint!" or "I love Lewis will to win, you have to be ruthless!" and things like that.

I am glad I have the decency enough to protest this attitudes when Schumi did them in the past and now that Alonso do them.

Conclusion, I am the best so the pole is mine! :1st: (sorry, not a good week for me, needed this self ego-boost)

with a little bit of self introspection, you will realise that you are the one that is talking "non sense"

So does Alonso now get 'Satan' status considering he tried to undermine 'God'?

Yeah I try to be consistent too, but you can never be perfect. (Even me) I'm just saying what I said about Schumi and all the greats. Alonso is just like them (maybe one of them). It was such a funny thing to do that I hope he did do it deliberately. Not because I hate Alonso (far from it) but because that kind of rule-bending is what F1 is all about for me. All the greats do it!

No you don't have to. Because I was comparing Mika and DC against LH and FA, not among themselves so your post would prove nothing.

Oh, by the way, did I mention I am just teasing you?

Maybe so but i spent all that time looking for my statistics so there is no way that im not going to post them :P

Well I'd like to see it anyway! :)

and here they are

1996

Hakkinen - 31

Coulthard - 18

1997

Hakkinen - 27

Coulthard - 36

1998

Hakkinen - 100

Coulthard - 56

1999

Hakkinen - 76

Coulthard - 48

2000

Hakkinen - 89

Coulthard - 73

2001

Hakkinen - 37

Coulthard - 65

All up that is

Hakkinen - 360

Coulthard - 324

and if you change the points to take into account the 2 times Coulthard let Hakkinen win then the real point is

Hakkinen - 352

Coulthard - 332

That is 20 points difference in 6 seasons as teammates.

Look where Alonso goes on track just behind Raikkonen to be able to give some space and then fight for the pole on clean air.

It was me or Hamilton for a clean lap and of course Alonso has nothing to care of but himself.

This is it!

 By the way, your effort wasn't in vain because I remembered your post even before you posted it again. :D

@Muzza: I know it is hard to be consistent. And I wasn't accusing you of not being consistent as your posts in this thread were consistent with your opinion about other controversial moves in the past, so cheers! :D I will never agree with you on this, but at least you don't have double standards, that earns my respect for whatever is worth

you are right...but i don't think he wants to have a good relationship with ron anymore, which is stupid and understandable at the same time.it is stupid because he may really be determined and capable of winning, but if ron doesn't won't fernando to win he won't win ,no matter what he'll do(that's why i strongly believe that tomorrow ron will help lewis a little bit more in order to "compensate for what happened to day".but you can understand why fernando acts like this...he has been through a very unpleasant period in the team and he has accepted it but it was inevitable that one day his anger would burst out!

Alonso's life is not only about win or lose, he's been this way since I remember him and he is not going to change now. But I tell you that Alonso was waiting to go on track just behind Raikkonen and he cannot control that, someone told him to do that.

that's what i believe too.fernando has proved that he is a fair driver...

that's what he said:

"The team always decides when I have to get moving. I know it looks that way because he lost the opportunity to do his lap, but even if I had left those five seconds earlier he wouldn't have made it anyway. I think the calculations were wrong. I'm sorry for him but I leave the pits when I'm told to."

Lewis is not like that. He is so mentally tuned that he is able to focus on the positives rather than negatives. Nando is the opposite and it shows.

funny thing u mentioned that...our commentator said that 5yr back he would say same thing for FA.

So in 5yrs from now, if LH will be in the same position u think he would not do similar thing?? :eusa_think:

Well Alonso is under investigation and they requested the team radio traffic, hopefully it will be made public so we can know what was said too. The rumour is the guy (Borra) that Ron Dennis got was personally taken to the FIA as it seems he gave Alonso the signal when to go (knowing enough time had elapsed).

I watched the footage and timed it from the moment it was raised to the moment he gets underway as 10.4 seconds (maybe a little less). So undoubtedly he stopped Hamilton (who missed it by 4 seconds) from getting the lap in.

There is a rumour that says it was Hamilton who didn't follow McLaren's orders.

Have you heard something about it?

P.S.- It is more than a rumour but no yet a piece of news. Well, sad Ron Dennis only got furious when Alonso had got the pole. It is only a storm because of Hamilton loosing the pole.

Now we can support FA and laugh!

THIS IS NOT MOTOR RACING. Ron Dennis should terminate him forthwith. TODAY!!!! Just to show he has clean hands as far as Stepneygate is concerned

There is a man at the pit-wall with a GPS saying when the driver has to go for the pole and he told Alonso to stay, the man with the lollipop raised it wrong first time because of the blanket on the wheel and the second time because the man at the GPS didn't tell him to lift it.

And now you can ask James Allen where all that Sh#t came from!

As far as I'm concerned I hope Alonso and McLaren split ways.

Why Ron sacking FA for a racing situation will make him look any more decent regarding the espionage case?

And yes, this is motor racing. This has been motor racing from as far as I can remember.

does anybody know when the stewards' decision will be released?

Whenever they make up (or give up on trying to making up) a rule for him to have broken.
