Okay, I thought it'd be better to post this here rather than the football topic to avoid standing on people's toes there.

Anyway. So the sports news has been dominated by one thing. Ferdinand being "ruled out the world cup" because of a "training injury".

Oh FFS! Does a day go by when a footballer ISN'T injured? Man up you idiot. Hurt your knee have you? Awwww. You want your mummy to kiss it better or something?

GRRR! Football. Hate. Football. Hate. Footballers! Over payed idiotic, arrogant, spoilt f*ckers!!! They get payed enough money for doing jack-all, so the least they could do is f*cking bare it. Oh well, they come from the Andrex league, so what can you expect?

Yeah, that's just my general view on footballers in general. I think there should be a feature at football matches for everytime a footballer starts rolling around on the floor for the referee to come out with a shotgun and end their misery.

I mean, it's one thing me not liking the players and having no interest in the sport in general, but another thing that completely annoys me is the fans. Dear God. Now I know that this is not every football fan in the world, but I have never ever heard of somebody being hit around the head by a chair at a motor race because of supporting a different team/driver to the next guy. Same with glassings. And I have never seen massive drunken battles outside any of the races I have ever been too as one group of one fans starting on a group of another.

What made me laugh is there is a campaign out urging fans to keep it a "beautiful game", i.e avoiding this violence and what have you. That sums up the mentality and the stupidity of some idiots who go to football matches when grown adults have to be reminded how to act. Completely pathetic.

I know that Switzerland banned motorsport for a time being after the horrific 1955 Le Mans disaster. If I was in power of any country, I'd ban football.

Okay, that really is my last rant post on football. Just needed to be it out my system and let people here know my stance on the f*cking thing.

I'm a fan of football, but agree completely with you on your views of hooliganism.

They don't realise that a Dad has brought his 5 year old to the game, or a family with their young ones. They think its funny to shout obscenities in front of kids. Its not.

Some years back I was working on a rugby stadium. Steph will know it well, Franklins Gardens. It has enormous bars, open throughout the game. It has no segregation of fans by means of fences. Tells me all I ever needed to know about football.

I thought I was alone on this but I see you are with me, I don't like football at all, I even think it is a stupid sport, just think about going to watch a match and at the end you get out fo the stadium and the game finished 0-0 you were there just watching teh guys runnung behind the ball and nothing happen, noone scored but the game ended anyway.

I haven't read your previuos posts but I guess you started talking about when a "Professional" Football player is on the floor pretending that he was hit just to try to get a yellow or red card on the other team, that's pathetic like you said and they call themselves professional and the fans support this kind of behavior no wonder the violence on the public is the spectacle is as low as the people who cause those problems, I agree with you football should be banned.

I'd be bored to tears just sitting in one spot at a football match, espacially for the break they have as well. That sounds like enormous fun when it's freezing cold!

Yes, it's really been annoying for me right through school. I guess in some people's eyes you're seen as a weirdo if you don't like football or support the local team. I remember once waiting outside science class in the first year, a kid asked me what team I supported. I replied with that I didn't like football, and he laughed and gave me a funny look. It got worse when I said I preferred motorsport, because you've got idiots who say "the most interesting bit of motorsport is the crashes!" Yeah, right. Let me know when you are involved in a car crash and we'll see how funny it is then.

Yes, I was referring to how they just seem to role on the floor for hours on end. If there's actual blood and bone then yes, they are injured, but I bet even if you just flicked them they'd fall over and roll about the place. I bet some could really make it in the film industry and have a great acting career if they give up football!

What annoys me also is that when you're English and you don't support England or give a crap about it, you're like a traitor or something. It's just too nationalistic like you HAVE to support the country where you originally come from. It's just dumb. I can see why some people take pleasure from it, being proud about your origin and what have you, but I've never been like that. I don't support GB in the Olympics, I don't support England in the world cup. I don't even support either of the British drivers in F1. I just don't get the "cheering on England" side of it. I've never been a flag waver. I mean, I'm glad I live in GB, but I wouldn't say I'm super proud about it in terms of "England rules! Go England!". I support my favourite athletes and drivers, not the place they come from.

Speaking of blood and bone, I was watching Liverpool play. Djibril Cisse went in for a tackle, stood up, and the next thing you hear is an agonizing scream. His leg bone snapped straight away. Poking through his sock the poor dude. I know how that feels and it is not nice one bit!
