Alonso's Penalty Not Unfair After All

Looks like Alonso's Monza Penalty wasn't all that unfair in technical terms. Max and Flavio have acknowledged the decisions of the Stewards after looking at the data the stewards used. I think the problem that needs to be addressed is reducing the reliance on aero and changing the laws to penalize only on intentional blocking....

So you seem certain that there is no politics within F1 .By the way this is not the place to launch personal attacks especially in your first posts.If you think otherwise DISCUSS IT , don't try to be a smart a$$.

P.S. If you think F1 is only fast cars and drivers that run around tracks and happy racing you are really illusioned.This is a Billion Dollar sport and I assure you everyone is trying to get their job done one way or another.

Golf and Tennis may be on the clean side in sports but F1 for sure has Politics. I'm sure drugs too will come very soon in some form.

On to the topic, What did MS per-say do for FA to make those comments - "Michael is the man with the most sanctions and is the most unsporting driver in the history of Formula One." This is only your view, no one else said it - How can "one" 25 year old label a world renowned sportsman like that. FA is still a kid. He has made himself to be the most unsporting driver today - he could not take defeat and unable to even think how to save those 2 points. Simple as that.

Message to FA - I think you dug your own grave in this F1 circus . Due to the politics within your own team you have been winning. When JT left mid season, he was leading you in points, better in qualifying and better in testing as well. Without politics, GF will be beating you fair and square. I hope you will learn something out of this. Good luck for next year .

Cars re alot closer then that in EVERY quali session this year, yet we've not seen THAT many penalties.... all of a sudden the world champ cops one, that helps the 2nd placed driver who is reitring at the end of season.... No need to weseal out.

Bernie Ecclestone says he understands the anger of Renault's Flavio Briatore and Fernando Alonso following the stewards' controversial qualifying penalty at Monza.

The F1 supremo used the word 'farce' when describing the punishment handed down after Alonso allegedly impeded Ferrari's Felipe Massa last Saturday.

F1's governing body is currently investigating Briatore's insinuation on Italian television that the FIA is conspiring to allow Ferrari to win the championship. But far from support a possible charge of disrepute, 75-year-old Ecclestone agrees that he saw 'no proof' that Massa was obstructed on his hot lap.

The diminutive Briton even went as far as to tell Germany's Sport Bild publication in an interview that Ferrari is the only team 'that gets political support' from the FIA.
