It's nice, but I prefer the Moss/Jenks 300SLR. Or the Lotus 78. Or Dan Gurney's Eagle Weslake.

I have my personal favourites too like the Ferrari 641 of Alain Prost 1990 campaign but the 250F is a timeles classic -like Anita Ekberg!

Always loved Michael Schumacher's Benneton 94/95.

Alonso's Renault 05/06

Anything pre 1980 to me looks pants, the liveries are really plain and boring. lol

The Union type C desperately needs a spoiler. :P

No one has the balls to make such beautiful cars these days. Weather its motorsports or regular cars, its always driven by marketing and regulations.

To me, the most appealing car is Williams-Renault FW16. The livery painting combines pretty well with the c#ckpit shape and the nosecone. The latter editions (FW17-19) were similarin terms of colours but they had no such great shape. FW16 has both.

I still think the most beautiful GP car was the Ferrari 312b (the one in my sig). I don't know what it is but I just love the look, plus it sounded amazing thanks to a v12

I think most of the votes will be down to the era in which we grow up with F1 with.

I first started watching in the 1980's and thus have little knowledge of 1950's racing.  In that respect, I consider the 80's cars to be far better looking.

I find it really strange that the cars looked so different from when I first started watching in 1985 to the cars of the early 1980's just a few years before.

As I am new to the Forum I'm late to the topic.  Nonetheless, I'll bore you with my 2 cents.  The Rumble Strip noted that personal selection is most likely swayed by the "...era in which we grew up with F1..." and I can't disagree.  I have some overlap with choices by other members (such as the stunning Maserati 250F), but with the exception of the 1954/55 Mercedes W196, they are all from the mid-1960's... which gives you an idea of my age.

http://www.badongo.com/pic/6483790

The Lotus 49, Dan Gurney's Eagle Weslake and the Ferrari 312 of the 1966/67 seasons were all lovely cars.  For all my appreciation of aerodynamics, there is something simple, purposeful and also elegant about the Formula One cars in the 1960's before they 'sprouted wings,' although that in no way discounts beautiful designs from the 1970's through present day.
