"On the rare occasions that I play a racing game I often think ‘you know what this needs? A boss battle or two.’ A Formula One game in which, suddenly, everybody else has a monster truck and their sole desire is to squash you. A street racing game with a tank or two blowing the roads and buildings to bits. A Nascar game with a track that occasionally bends to the right" (Adam Smith - RPS)

Alonso's Renault 05/06
Anything pre 1980 to me looks pants, the liveries are really plain and boring. lol
The Union type C desperately needs a spoiler.

The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on. - Robert Bloch
Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the hell is the ceiling?
I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

“We keep on working, we do our thing,†Vettel shouts over the team radio, “We are who we are!â€
"Vettel is a champion. That’s not referring to his achievements, but rather to his approach to everything he does. He wins. All the time. His preparation is meticulous, his attention to detail reminiscent of Michael Schumacher at his peak, and his performance on the track is almost always flawless. Vettel is capable only of domination. He knows no other way... Vettel is not in Formula One to be liked. He is there to win. And in the words of Ayrton Senna, perhaps the greatest of all Formula One drivers, “Nice men don’t win.â€"

Jacky Ickx at La Source during practice for the 1970 Grand Prix of Belgium

The Masters have returned.
"People were being killed left, right and center back then," [Phil Hill] says. "I became hyper-sensitive to the danger, and wasn't sure that I wasn't going to kill myself. As a result, racing brought out the worst in me. Without it, I don't know what kind of person I might have become. But I'm not sure I liked the person I did become, because I was selfish, irritable and defensive."

I first started watching in the 1980's and thus have little knowledge of 1950's racing. In that respect, I consider the 80's cars to be far better looking.

The Lotus 49, Dan Gurney's Eagle Weslake and the Ferrari 312 of the 1966/67 seasons were all lovely cars. For all my appreciation of aerodynamics, there is something simple, purposeful and also elegant about the Formula One cars in the 1960's before they 'sprouted wings,' although that in no way discounts beautiful designs from the 1970's through present day.
