Well in the past cpl. of weeks I've had to delete a thread, lock a thread and give a ban. I don't like to be doing this, so please members remember some decorum. Although today I found that a thread where one poster started insulting me was locked. Amusing. If every thread where I'm insulted is locked, the forum will effectively close down. Too little too late, I'm afraid. The mob is already accustomed to do as they please. Not only they insult, they claim to be proud of it while desperately hoping it hurts my feelings (a thought as preposterous as hilarious). Read the lasts posts in the latest locked thread, if you have a taste for the absurd, it's all there. Still. Interestingly his insults are nowhere as bad (certainly no different) than those posted by Dribbler, Abbas, Adamstrags, and many others (including our latest angry smurf Insider). Of course, _who_ does what is crucial around here. So KingAlonso is out while the violent-but-allowed in the forums go in their merry way yelling how proud they are of their deeds... Truly amusing. KingAlonso, you were banned because you are an Alonso fan. You lost your cool, true, but your actions are not dissimilar to those of many posters around here. I mean, of course, thread locking by the mods... 17 page threads locked by the insults of the mob abound. It occurs to me, though, that the mods might have been quietly banning Dribbler, Abbas, Adamstrags, and the other violent posters and we simply don't know about it. You should read your own posts maureen, in particular your (early, in particular) racist comments to HandyNZ. How you didn't get banned for that is beyond belief. The likelyhood of this is low but I like to think well of people, what can I say. Whatever.... A rant came to mind about this plonker's verbal diarrhoea - but free speech is good. Oli 1 Report post Posted April 30, 2009 If you write a post that is purely an attack on another member (i.e. it has nothing to do with the topic at hand and is only composed of insults) then you have overstepped the line and should have kept your mouth shut. It affects everybody because the mods have to start locking threads which actually contain interesting discussions. Do what I do- be supercilious and patronising instead. It has much the same effect.
