IF...Macca and Ferrari both deliver cars to fight up front
IF...the new regulations, interpretations and fiction based on 2010 rules allow for certain degree of overtaking and/or on-track actual fight
IF...no stupid BS that ends in "-gate" shows up
IF...the stewards decide to find a more consistent way of enforcing the ruls without forcing the results

THEN...

- We will have 3, maybe 4 awfully good drivers (Massa was beiong surprisingly good, but we need to see what Massa we get back after this)
- IMHO: Lewis > Kimi, but barely so. Nando > Massa (of course, but he will be the newbie and Massa the veteran there, so very close too)
- Motivated Kimi > Regular Lewis
- If Lewis lowers his error margins then Lewis > Kimi.
- Motivated Alonso > Massa can crash some time to try to keep his seat
- If Flavio and Renault were really the reason Alonso has been so nice this season then probably Massa > Alonso (Ferrari is no Renault)
- If all 4 are motivated and more or less comfy...then wow...and I mean WOW. No, I don't mean WOW, the game, but wow, as in WOW! Get it?
- Kimi and Massa are fast. Lewis and Nando are fierce. Technically Ferrari has the edge with their line-up. In pure speed, Macca has the edge.
- Regarding intra team harmony, theoretically Macca has the edge. Regarding intra team winning attitude, Ferrari has the edge.
- I hope Kubica goes to Renault, I would sign Timo, too. I don't want Button nor Trulli, thanks.
- Salma and Cameron are mine.
- Any questions?

No questions, good summary though.

No need, Brad.  Kimi may have liked Ferrari, but I can't see him being too broken up about it, to be honest

He'll easily get a drive at any other team he wants.  Teams will always take a chance with 'rogue personalities' (not that I think Kimi's is) as long as they are fast and can deliver.

If he does go back to McLaren, then I think it will be a very interesting pairing.  I don't think they will have a problem with each other.  Lewis might not like getting beaten by Kimi, but I think he will accept it because there are just no hidden agendas with Kimi, what you see is what you get.  I think Lewis can learn a lot from Kimi, if he wants to, of course.

He's still, overall, my favourite driver in F1 at the moment.  Though I shouldn't tell you that when I want to wind you up about Kimi

I think Santander money has a lot more to do with this, than thinking that Alonso is a better driver than Kimi.

It's not Santander's money, they were very happy having Alonso in Ferrari for 2011.

It was Ferrari who wanted him there ASAP.

FACE IT! ASAP!

Hmm, I hope Kimi doesn't drop out of F1. He's still a good driver and I'd personally love to see how he goes up against Hamilton.

I'm gonna enjoy watching you drink that water (wait, does that make me a paedophile?). Anyway, if Kimi does go to Mclaren I don't see him being that far behind Lewis.

The ice age is approaching Eric, wrap up warm

Bah, I'm from the NEW England.  It's winter 359 days of the year here.  I'll have you know I don't own a winter jacket and it's usually in the negatives (Celsius, I took the effort to convert for you) and I don't use the heated seats in my lorry on the drive to school.  So ha!  I'm prepared to fight off any untalented losers who call themselves F1 drivers :P.

Besides, if the ice age is coming, you won't be able to enjoy watching me drink the water, as it will be frozen.

(Alonso, Massa, Hamilton, and Vettel will beat Kimi, so that puts him fifth, and Button, Rosberg, Webber don't have half-bad chances of beating him, either).

I'd love to see him driving an F1 car next year but only if we're going to have the best Kimi.

Nice work Sherlock, did they teach you that in science class? :P Seriously, did they? 'Cos I didn't know that, as you know I was home schooled because my parents didn't want me to get bullied. But yeah,Kimi may well suck, but if he's on form for a few races it's highly unlikely he would finish 5th overall. He's that good you know  Almost as good as I was back in the day.Besides, if he's not in F1 next year he also won't be finishing fifth. I predict your prediction will fail; I also predict a riot.

No.  My physics teacher plays Xbox all day and eats lobster sandwiches.  He's kind of like you in a way, actually.  We're currently shooting marbles.  I learned it in Spanish class.  No I didn't.  Spanish class is very dull.  We read a story about this farmer named LOLorenzo who has a farm of porn corn and beans, but he needs rain, and then it rains, so he and his children run outside to expose themselves in the rain, and then they find out once it's hitting their bare skin that it's hail, and the harvest is ruined, so he writes a letter to God asking for 100 pesos, and the postmaster laughs at it and then realizes this man will go all atheist if God doesn't reply, so he sends him 60 pesos, and then LOLorenzo writes back to God saying "Mail me the other 40, you bitch.  Don't do it through the post office, they are thieves."  And I fell out of my chair laughing because there's nothing funnier than ironic crappy Spanish made-for-textbook stories.  So, in all honesty, I have no idea how I learned that water becomes ice when it freezes.  It was probably from watching this great Spanish show called Low Gear.  This one guy, "El Maestro de Lluvia," he wears a Speedo over his head and nothing else so no one really knows who he is, and he tests cars for the show.  During his test of a Fiat Multipla, the temperature hit -2 C and he suddenly turned into this strange hard, cold substance and they had to throw his body into a pit of fried chicken to warm him up.  It was crazy.  I'll never forget it.

He won't beat Alonso.  He won't beat Alonso.  He won't beat Vettel.  He won't be Lewis.  You must not have done well in math.  Of course you didn't, you never took math, you took maths!  Ahahahaha.  Actually that wasn't funny.

Predicting a riot?  Hmm.  You may be right.  Phil was saying he could feel one of those coming in the air tonight.  Phil > those guys who did "I Predict a Riot."  Their name escapes me but I think James Allen's the frontman and Martin Brundle's in the band, too, and so is Maure, and you, and Meani, and the Gallaghers, because those are the only non-Phil Brits I can name right now.  I only named the Gallaghers because I know you man-crush on them.  They blow.  On their saxophones.  Because you have to do so to play such an instrument.

I like that story although it's not as good as the one about Lenny and George, and the mice, then again nothing is. I am right about the riot, and Phil is much better than those guys, by far. Because he did that song "another day in paradise" which is a good song. As you can tell, it's late, I can't be bothered to write anything funny or interesting. Actually, you probably didn't notice :P Yeah I do have a man crush, on Noel, not Liam. Liam annoys me but he's a necessary evil to make the band work, except that he made them split. **** you, Liam. Anyway, at least I still have The Verve, even if they are as depressing as doing calculus :P

 I noticed I typed "he won't beat Alonso" twice when I meant Massa.  I suppose that'd only add up to P4 in the WDC, so my math is the sucky one! :P

But I did mean Massa, so he's P5, or worse, and I'm right, because I am.

 I just noticed you replied to my message, too.  I'll reply to it now.  Exciting conclusion below.  I'm going to make it REALLY long because you have made it clear you're tired.  You're welcome.

The story about Lenny and you and the mice was a good story, though I'm not sure how I feel about you after reading it.  I don't think I can ever associate myself with you for being in a story that told me the American dream and Slumdog Millionaire were lies when I was counting on both of them to make a living.

That is a good song.  You're much like Kimi.  Sometimes, your musical taste is rubbish and appears to be the effects of alcoholism.  Other times it's crackingly cracking.  Baffled I am.

Liam backwards is mail, and the mailmen are thieves, ask Whorenzo.  Noel backwards is Leon, as in Kings of Leon, who did one good song and I hear it on the radio thrice every morning on the way to school and once on the way back because it's still the end of 80s lunch hour that's really three hours.  I also hear a lot of T. Swift singing about how she wears t-shirts but never mentions she wears any type of pants/shorts/skirts/dresses/things that cover up the lower portion of her body.  "She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts" doesn't address the situation.  Neither does "she wears high heels, I wear sneakers."  Geez T. Swift.  Put on some pants.  I'm assuming that's "love you, Liam" because you love him.  The Verve had one good song, it was about some type of a symphony, I think it was of the sour variety, no, that's wrong, who cares.  But it reminds me of staying up until 4 AM every morning talking to these two kids who I no longer talk to because we were hormonal p**sy 14-year-old bitches and hated eachother and probably still do, I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Calculus is so easy that it's actually not half-bad.  Quick, George, what's the cosecant of 83 pi/4?!!?!?!?!?!?  I don't care, either, and that's pre-calculus anyway.  Yay!  So now you can go design yourself an F1 car with one of them graphin' calcamalaters.  Is gonna be fast.  Alternatively, you can find out if Mary is on a ferris wheel and you throw a baseball at the ferris wheel...will she catch it?  Because that's one of the most useful real world applications of math.  In fact, that's all Ross Brawn is thinking about during a race..."oi, bloody 'ell, Mary's gonna miss it by 3 thousandths of er second, will yer believe that, Rubens?  Wot's that?  Yer wing's broken?  Well, let's see if I throw a baseball at it, and..."

I don't know why Ferrari are letting Kimi go and keeping Flipper.

Kimi was WDC. Flipper is not. As much as I have grown to like Flipper, I fear he will always be the 'nearly' man.
I may be wrong? While Kimi admittedly has had a slump in form, he's the guy that brought home the goods. Regardless of whoever has the most points blah blah blah, Flipper has yet to deliver. Can he? I'm a doubter. Sorry.

the thing is that they learnt in Schumi's era that is better to have a number one driver and a supporting driver, like ti was RB in that era, Kimi won't play that role under any circunstances, as long as he has still a chance to fight for the title he will try to grab it, next year Ferrari plan to use Massa as a suport driver, to help Alonso to win the title, Kimi will never agree to that so he has no place at Ferrari right now, Ferrari is NOT thinking about Massa winning the title next year, they invested all that money to try to win it with Alonso, they will only support Massa if he gets to make a big difference in the early stages of the season, if he doesn't manage to do this, he fate is sealed, he will be another Rubens in that team adn Massa is so loyal that he wouldn't mind to much about that, he'll be in gratitude to the team who trust him so much to keep him even when they don't know if he is going to affected by this accident, but the fact is that as he doesn't remember anything he can not be affected unless a part of his brain was damage and that is not the case, so FA will have a perfect scenario for 2010, right now the only uncertain part of this story is how good will be the next Ferrari car.

Kimi Raikkonen: It is the same thing that I said before. I have no interest in driving for a bad team next year. If I race here, I always try to finish as high as I can. I don't need anything to motivate me. If I drive, I drive to do my best and that is it.

I never go with expectations, I go with a target. That is to be at the front, and the ultimate aim to win, which is the mentality I have always gone racing with.

Yep. I read somewhere that Kimi's settlement money comes from someone else, not Santander.

Anyway, I restate that Ferrari is nuts to keep Massa and let go of Kimi. Massa should've (and would've) never been in a Ferrari if not because his agent is Todt's son. How many seasons has he wasted that car? And please don't bring up last season. It was a mountain of fckups from all 3 top teams (at the time) and 6 drivers that, ultimately, utter chance delivered into Hamilton's hand. Still. They keep Massa and I can only think it is _again_ because of his agent's dad being the next captain of that pirate ship (I'm feeling generous) called FIA. Ferrari thrives on FIA support and disposing of Massa migth appear to Ferrari more dangerous than releasing Kimi into the wild. They'll live to regret it.

Regarding Kimi, fcking holy sht, I had come to accept the man would leave F1 and we would lose the guy I've always (and still) considered the fastest driver in the field. Now, it seems, he is reconsidering. Great news for me, I'm delighted. Again, my interpretation is that he isn't after money. If he finally decides to get a drive it is because he's found a team that can deliver a winning car that will allow him to settle a personal score. I bow to that and look forward to his revenge.

There will be fireworks in McLaren if Kimi lands there. The lack of confidence the team has in Hamilton (as manisfested by his lower fuel load compared to teammate in pretty much every quali) together with his irregularity means that he will left in the dust often. And we all know how Hamilton reacts when he is beaten by his teammate even in quali. His tennis dad will be shouting up and down the pitlane at everyone and everything once again, etc.

Hopefully, the next season will, at least, deliver some decent races. Can't ask for more considering the last couple of seasons. Still, let's not forget that Todt is most likely to steal FIA's throne and this man (together with the likes of RD, Briatore, Brawn, etc) has cheated a billion times over during his career in F1. To make matters worse, Whiting and Ecclestone remain put and this implies one thing and one thing only, namely, more fixed races with opportunistic safety cars, selective cranes, and the entire collection of props and inexplicable tricks this goofy lot has delighted us over the years.

Might as well kill the lights on this (yet again) fixed season and move on to the next one...
I walk.

I don't think that's the case Brad!

F1 is serious business.
Our perception of agreements or ethics does not apply here. Kimi is a part of the F1 world, lives by its principles, even though he does his own thing occasionally.

Is he 'just a driver' that got kicked out of the team, kind of like an employee who never had the time to get his work right and was fired by his evil employer?

The straight answer is a big "NO".
All F1 drivers are multimillionaire athletes and they are paid because of their skills and to get the job done! No one is allowed to "fall asleep" here and the drivers know this.
Do you really think Kimi will be ice-fishing to survive? He buys yachts for fun! He didn't try hard enough and he was no longer considered to be the best driver Ferrari could have.

Right or wrong of Ferrari, we shall see!
so, in response to my response, you then agree with my statement that Kimi is badly treated...

I'd love to see him driving an F1 car next year but only if we're going to have the best Kimi.

I agree. And only if the McLarens don't mysteriously start breaking again.

I have on numorous occations mentioned Schumacher. I have suggested the role that big-chinned plays in the Ferrari team, I have suggested that he's againts Kimi, numorous times. I have suggested that his interest was in helping Massa, while Kimi decided to be his own man and do things his own way.Kimi did'nt need help from MS,It was now Kimi's team after all. This article says alot...

Michael Schumacher has welcomed Ferraris decision to hire Fernando Alonso for 2010 and beyond and revealed that he was involved in the choice. The Maranello squad announced on Wednesday that it had signed a three-year contract with Alonso, who will replace Kimi Raikkonen. Schumacher, who won five of his seven world titles with Ferrari and is now a consultant for the team, said he was delighted by the news. Fernando with Ferrari, thats something I like a lot, Schumacher told his website. I was involved from the very beginning in this decision, and I always liked the idea. I am sure Fernando will feel good with us, and I can only say: Welcome, Fernando!

James Allen on Schumacher help....

"Yet that is what Ferrari will have next season with Schumacher hovering in the background as Alonso gets down to work.

Kimi Raikkonen kept himself to himself and let Schumacher deal with Felipe Massa and the engineers. How will Alonso play it?

- IMHO: Lewis > Kimi, but barely so. Nando > Massa (of course, but he will be the newbie and Massa the veteran there, so very close too)
- Motivated Kimi > Regular Lewis
- If Lewis lowers his error margins then Lewis > Kimi.
- Motivated Alonso > Massa can crash some time to try to keep his seat
- If Flavio and Renault were really the reason Alonso has been so nice this season then probably Massa > Alonso (Ferrari is no Renault)
- - Any questions?

Lewis = Alonso ('07)

Lewis shade above Kimi (you said so), so Alonso = shade above Kimi

Massa > Kimi (not by a shade, but very clearly,  in the races for Ferrari together)

Conclusion : Massa > Alonso (in the unfortunate event I'm proved wrong, you wouldn't dig up this post & indulge in a bit of schadenfreude, would you?)

My original response to these news was a bit of disappointment, because I enjoyed seeing Kimi fighting again these last few races!

Although I believe now he was back on form in a "job interview" kind of way, after he was notified by Ferrari that his services won't be needed for next year! I may be wrong, but honestly, I believe he could do better!

Last year he was rather frustrating and I can see why Ferrari made the decision to bring Alonso in!
Even I could see Ferrari was lacking in development during the year and needed a more "technical" driver, or a more motivated one!

I can't see McLaren doing much to have Kimi there, but Mercedes will push to have a competitive driver along with Hamilton next season. I remember the best Kimi in McLaren-Mercedes and they haven't forgot that.

As we were saying yesterday...
Fray Luis de León wrote mystical poems which prompted Cervantes to proclaim León "a genius who astounds the world and who, in ecstasy, might rob us of our senses." León was also an active man who taught at the University of Salamanca, translated classical and biblical literature, and wrote on religious themes. Twice denounced before the Inquisition, he was imprisoned for "heresy," though he returned to the University to later hold the chairs of Moral Philosophy and Biblical Studies.

Tradition has it that he began his lecture the first day after returning from four years' imprisonment with the words "as we were saying yesterday..."

You don't get the point...in 2008, the Ferrari car was still the one to beat, even with Kimi off form!!! If you wanna blame lack of technicality, blame the earodynamic guy who Ferrari fired a few months ago, because he was the one to **** up!

Dominicalli's head is on a roll, read james allen's view's on www.jamesallenonf1.com. The firing of Kimi has absolutely nothing to do with his performance, nor his technical feedback, but everything to do with the sponsor.

The car was good, but it didn't really set the world on fire!
There was very little between the two cars (Ferrari, Mclaren).

Personally I expected more from Kimi and I bet many others too! I wouldn't be surprised if his performance was the reason he lost the drive, but I 'm pretty sure that, as everything in life, it had to do with money as well!

Don't get me wrong Brad! I like Kimi, but I just can't justify him for not fighting for poles and victories. These last few races he seems to be on form and I hope he keeps it!
