What you like to do on weekends: Anything with the people I enjoy being around

Drink: Water; it's the only beverage in my fridge other than juice, which I don't drink, and skim milk, which I do drink but only for the health value, not the taste. I like certain sodas, but we don't keep soda in the house, and I have to imagine I wouldn't like soda much if I drank it often.

Name: Maure (yep, it's my name. In my native language is pronounced something like "mawer" or "mauer" or "maur" or "ma-gu-er" depending on your own native language)

Age: Too old to give a sht.

Location: Japan... for the last few years, but I've lived all over the world. Home is eveywhere.

Sex: Sure. It's one of my favorite three things.

Favourite F1 Driver: Don't give a sht about "favorite" but with Kimi gone, the best one left is Alonso.

Least favourite F1 Driver: Similarly, don't give a sht about "least favorite". I would say that, bar three or four, most of the field is either is unproven or simply being wasted.

What you like to do on weekends: Don't have weekends. I either work or don't. When I do, I often post here for relaxation. When I don't, I used to take the BMW for long-distance off-road touring... but Japan doesn't work for that so forestry/abandoned roads and the like is the best I've got to work with. Lucky me, Japan is 70% wild forest and too abrupt for any form of habitation. I love these mountain roads... anyway, I like to push my bike through mud and stone fast and rugged.

Food: Cooked with loved, everything but vertebrates.

Drink: Water. Far second, real mixed-fruit juice.

Favourite song: Absurd.

Pet Hates: None. Can't hate.

Dream Job: Got it. Foreigner.

Worst Job: Endless reincarnation.

Religion: I'm neither a believer, an agnostic, or an atheist. Either you understand this... or you don't.

Adding Maure to the like list due to the above.

Too kind.

I've never had a run-in with him.

Most haven't or have figured it out soon enough. Only few goofs remain...

And he off-roads in a Beamer. Thats admirable.

Actually, that was my pleasure. I had a F650 that was perfect for many countries... New Zealand, for instance, was a dream. Rode the wheels off from the north of the North Island to the south of the South Island. Brilliant stuff. Come to think of it, I might have done some six or seven thousand kms of gravel, mud, and dirt over there... good times.

Anyway, the F650 was short on power at times. Forget any serious two-ups. So I was gonna upgrade to the 1100gs but then I came to Japan and if you like to off-road here, 250cc or 400cc tops. All else is a waste. Besides, the tracks are fcking narrow and most always have a cliff (or a drop like a cliff) on one side. You need something demon-like agile or else you are deadly fcked.

You ride? Good to meet a fellow biker. There are some of us around here... not many though.

Ah cheers Maure!

Yeah, I ride. I've a Suzuki TL1000S, pity they stopped their production though. I'd have liked to have seen them continue, maybe adding an anti-wheelie lock in. But the beauty about it, its pure 100% grunt. Twin cans light up like fireworks.

I would like to have a go on the R1 or the GSX too.

Name: John

Age: 50something

Location: Lancashire

Sex: Yes please

Favourite F1 Driver: Too many... Clark, Rindt, nowadays it's Ham, Alonso for sheer speed, JB 'cos he's an alright bloke that's quick enough.

Least favourite F1 Driver: Nelson Piquet comes closest I think.

What you like to do on weekends: We (with some mates) teach kids Karting. Baseball, rugby, mountain biking (the Lakes are 25 mins away, so, perfect), fix/restore old cars (was a mechanic when I left school, still love to tinker), my son is at the wonderful age of being a great mate, so all of this is usually with him. Cooking, listen to great toons, play guitar (badly), read.

Food: Italian best of all, Chinese, Tuna surprise, most anything we cook together is cool - makes the kitchen a a great place.

Drink: Like a beer occasionaly, red wine too, Drambuie for special moments.

Favourite song: mood dependent - last night it was Walking in Memphis.

Pet Hates: People called us murderers when we left active service - stays with you toooo damn long. Bad manners, people that won't look you in the eye, cowards, those that impose their will on others.

Dream Job: Don't know, think i'm in it now, though if money was no object, would love to do more karting with the kids and run an adventure-type place for young uns on a downer (y'know.. horses, bikes, quads, karts, building stuff, fixing things)... would be most excellent.

Worst Job: Being a school teacher

Religion?: None that's recognised, happy with the one I made up.

Favourite Forum Members: Too many, there's many great people here, I'm sure they know who they are!

Least favourite Forum Members: That Norwegian guy that got banned, miss Bahjo though, where the hell is he?

Life motto: Never ever, ever, give up, never compare yourelf with others, and be proud of your own achievements.

Highest education: mba, done in my 40's. Uni will never compare to The Uni of life (hi Steve!).

That's some great stuff meds ^^ Teaching more about nature to kids nowadays (read: TV is their teacher and they make me stand Disney Channel for days without end!) must be great, if my brothers had the chance of doing all that they wouldn't be as lazy as they are (I'm not saying I'm not lazy, the computer is my perdition, but I played out more at their age).

Yeah Freaky, most of the parents that enrol their kids to the karting days are hacked off their children have no practical/social skills and are teevo addicts. But once they get into the basics of looking after the kart, the parents complain of oily kids that want to clean their engine off in the kitchen. I love it

AH! Just realised how badly I wrote my list - the karting classes are for kids, and seperate to the "Baseball, rugby, mountain biking ", which is what I like to do for fun, not with the kids that come to the karting (apart from my own!). I feel tired at the thought - I don't have that much energy!

Nice, nice.

Got you on the grunt, alright... although I must say that I'm not one of those "ride to die" loons. The bike, for me, is a method of exploration, of going to places I would not go otherwise, you know, the middle of nowhere, lost beyond river crossings and untold hills or mountains... it is even fun now that we've all got GPS and it's impossible to actually get really lost. There was something special to have to fight your way out of deep sht past midnight...
