Well he has an opportunity to let his hair down and be a lad then he will take it, after all look at DC, he went to Red Bull and immediately grew stubble, laid back and started some cheeky comments.

If drivers can't do something, they will take the first opportunity when they can.

Political correctness will be the death of us all, as it inexorably continues to erode freedom of speech. What I do find amusing is that members of this forum are happy to hurl insults and abuse at each other, but then come over all righteous and offended when a figure in the public eye makes a humourous statement. Hypocrites.

Good point. :congrats:

mechanics would be embarrassed strapping her in, you have to really get into the crotch when doing it (and flatten the boobs)

I wouldn't, how do I go about getting such a job? ;)

Seriously though, I'm not offended by it but I can see how people would be.

Jensen just keeps shooting himself in the foot by saying dumb things like this, and THAT, I'm sorry but I DO find that hilarious.

Well said monza! Some people need to lighten up. Incidently - and I'm in danger of stereotyping people myself here - I think we Brits have more of a sense of humour than most other people. "How come" its always a (North) American who complains when we Brits say something in jest?

I'm just glad it was the real JR making the comment and not our lovable JR!!!!! :D

I guess the same thing goes for women golfers, they can't swing the club if they have large breasts since they would get in the way of the backswing and looking down at the ball :lol:

If it was not a joke, maybe Bernie and he can team up to start a Female Racer haters club like the Little Rascles. (What was the name of Alfalfa's club when he got mad at Darla?) "The He Man Female Haters Club" they had on the TV show back in the... ouch 50's. The shorts were actually from the 30's and 40's. Yes youngins, in black and white!!! but they were talkies.....

This is my fourth post and I have never thrown insults at other people.

What you claim to be political correctness has nothing to do with what Jenson Button said. PC is concerned with saying policewoman or policeperson instead of the normal policeman. Not Jenson's personal comments on the restrictions of a woman driving in F1 for her female anatomy.

What Jenson said is just stupid. Im a guy. Im not a lesbian or a feminist. He might have been joking but it just isnt smart to say that to a publication.

And its not really that funny. It might get a chuckle but nothing more.

I live in a country which was the first one to give the wome the vote and I dont think its fair to women if you justify there racing ability because of their tits.

You might have got a laugh Jenson, but I'm sure you'll regret it someday.

PS. I have a sense of humour. I laugh at a lot of things in F1. Its just what Jenson said is a bit juvenile. Expected better really from Britain's so called future hope. He has to be a professional on and off the track. Sure he can have fun, just be a bit more discreet with his material. His personality will shine through in F1 without having to resort to these comments.

I don't know about the rest of you blokes but I would find it a whole lot less embarrasing to be doing up a girls crotch straps ( being profesional about it of course ) than what I would be getting that intimate with a bloke.

As for the boobs By the time you go a serious sports bra and as many layers as the drivers wear I think you would have dificulty noticing them anyway unless the driver in question made Pam Anderson look small.

However I do not think a woman would be sucessful in F1 any time soon simply because of to many attitudes like Buttons. Lots may want the publicity of having them there but I don't think any team with a winning package would put a woman in their car. It would be to bad for to many big egos to let a woman win.

I say If a woman is good enough to win give her the oportunity but I think it highly unlikely it would happen.

So what do you call KIMI's drunken antics, they are far worse than anything JB has done in the public eye off the race track! Leave the guy alone! LOL!

Indeed, i wudda thought it wud be more uncomfy getting intimate with another guy! But maybe Jenson likes that! LOL! Id be queing for a job as a mechanic that straps in drivers if Danica became an F1 driver!!

:D:clap3::D

Is this any worse than what Bernie said: that women should drive in white overalls to match the other kitchen appliances? Jenson is just joking, what

The further we go down that road, the more the sport (like so many others) will become full of faceless automatons. One thing I have always loved about F1 (and still do, although the tide is starting to turn) is that it's the one sport where its competitors will say what they like without giving a damn what anybody thinks.

Anyway, women don't need you to defend them from a harmless quip. You're part of the problem, not the solution.

Considering the magazine it is, it is more than likely a joke and he more than likely said more than that, but they picked out the worst bits to make a story...the media put there spin on things again! :clap3:

Although some of it is scarily quite true - one week a month a lot of women would be crashing into other drivers, "what does he think he is doing...idiot...trying to overtake ME...still trying..thats it...no one gets past ME, not NOW!!!!!!!" *BANG*

Hehe...Hey Kay, you are so funny and mature...good for that!, the only ones that are crying for this joke are men... :clap3:

Kay_zee, DO YOU REALIZE YOU HAVE SOLVED THE MYSTERY OF THE YEAR HERE WITH THIS COMMENT!!!!

The reason TS and NK have been such bad drivers and punting so many off the road all season, both of them must be women (or part of a womens anatomy anyway).... :naughty:

Only they are in that way more than once a month :lol::lol:
