So's a properly-poured pint of Guinness; that doesn't mean that pint can win a GP. Webbo is becoming to me as JV was in the last few years....loads of potential and expected speed, but only delivered excuses. I like Webbo, but I need to see results.

Those results will only come when he is in a decent car. Monaco in 2006 really showed Webber's true speed as he managed to make his extremely slow Williams go as fast as the Renault's and Ferrari's and it looked like he was going to get a podium until the 2006 Williams did what it knew best and broke down.

I know, but couldn't that same be said of a handful of other drivers too? The rest of your statement consists of the 'excuses' I mentioned. Again, don't get me wrong, I genuinely want to see Webbo's potential realized. I know nobody will sign onto this, but I think he should have stayed at Williams. I believe what Mika said to Kimi just before Kimi moved to Ferrari 'to be a champion, you need stability'. Webbo should have weathered the bad times at Williams instead of landing, yet again, into a new team. That's my two-cents and, with inflation and the value of the dollar being what it is, it's probably worth half an ha' penny.

I dont know what a penny is worth?

Webber's biggest mistake was not accepting the contract offer from Renault and as mistakes go that is a very big one.

I agree with you on this one, Mike, he should not have changed teams

I do agree with Mike, too. I think he has potential, but when all you can say about a driver is "he showed his true potential in X race in year X" (not only for Webbo, but for any other driver). It means he really needs to start showing his potential no matter what car he is driving at the moment. And I don't mean winning races, of course, but consistently delivering good displays, keeping in mind what is a "good display" for the car he has.

Webbo needs to end the season above DC in the points. I think he can do it, but only time will tell.

Well, you and I will be watching LeMans with rapt attention. If you're a NASCAR watcher, JV is trying like hell to enter that series too. Remember how well JV did on ovals in CART? He was mind-blowing!! He actually won the Indy 500 FROM TWO LAPS DOWN!!!! That is a feat only the greats can match. If he can convince the good 'ole boys in Charlotte that he's financially viable, I expect him to quickly mop up the southern boys on the grid.

Driver 10: David Coulthard

Height: 182cm

Weight: 75kg

Teammate: Mark Webber

Races : 212

Victories : 13

Podiums : 61

Pole positions : 12

Fastest Laps : 18

Points : 513

Races finished in points : 115

David Coulthard made his Formula One debut after a year of testing for Williams, when he switched to the race seat in 1994 after Senna's untimely death. Coulthard drove well and manage to secure 8th in the 1994 WDC despite only driving in 8 of the races. 1995 saw him win his first race at the hands of the Williams in Portugal, but in 1996 he decided to make a switch to Mclaren and partner Mika Hakkinen - where he remained until 2005. He became infamous for his 'this will be my year' speeches, which not so much said these words, but highlighted his continued drive to believe that he was in with a chance of the title, despite always being second best. However, it is important to mention that alike to his new team mate, David faced many retirements and reliability issues at crucial times in his career, perhaps something they can both reflect on. In 2005 he joined the newly vamped Jaguar team, now called Red Bull Racing. It was clear he was keen to 'let it hang out' at Red Bull and found his increased freedom in personal decisions more to his liking - growing a beard straight after leaving the short back and sides of Mclaren. Coulthard outpaced Klien and Liuzzi in 2005 and stayed with the team for 2006, where the season was a disappointment - apart from Monaco which saw the team's first podium. 2007 will be his third season with Red Bull, although he faces a tougher challenge facing Mark Webber who also previous partnered and wiped the floor with Klien, but has the distinct advantage of knowing the team - it could be argued Mark Webber will also know many from the Jaguar days.

He's got a lot to do to convince me. And I don't think he's going to do it this year.

Kay, you're doing a fine job, keep it up! On DC....I like him. His driving style is textbook and perhaps not spectacular to watch, but he gets it done more often than not. I don't think he has it in him for the pure mental focus you need to be WDC, but he's fast and capable of race wins. That's my take on his driving, but I must say that he's probably the most interesting character currently on the grid today. A real gentleman who adds much to the sport. I'll be sorry to see him leave.
