I'm going to wait until Thurs to get the proper results for qualifying :whistling:
Depending on whether Lewis re-fueled after Q3 & not before like most people would expect him to :whistling::whistling:

Barichello's engine went POP in a cloud of smoke. Apparently Button did the same earlier but less so.

Then gets the fastest lap. What are they feeding those engines?

Nico back on top of the time sheets with a 1.35.940

BMW - Sauber still not quite on the pace.

And the comic footnote. Now that there is no way Hamilton can be exculpated, we are told (by BBC) that there is no need to dwell on this kind of thing and that we ought to move on... just what we hear around here from the same ilk.

Hilarious bunch.

Fans of racing and professionals involved with sport having the same opinion as each other. At the other end of the intelligence scale, a minority of small mided fools with both eyes on the peripheral nonsense and little interest in the real business of racing. Big surprise.

Not much they can say though really......after paying no doubt lots of cash to get the rights to Formula One (presumably primarily because of the rise of Hamilton) they must be pretty annoyed that 1) Hamilton's reputation is in shreds, 2) He's in a terrible car anyway and 3) The first race of the season was a total washout because all the results are constantly changing.

If I were them I wouldn't dwell on it much either......

The comment was made because a viewer texted in saying something along the lines of "All these politics, can we forget them and just concentrate on the racing?". The commentators agreed with the sentiment, that was all. How can anyone with a strong interest in F1 disagree with that?

But no, now we are concluding that the BBC are panicking and have to hush things up because of some sort of obligation to make things all squeeky clean and some sort ridiculous loyalty to Hamilton. F*ck me, The BBC were broadcasting F1, with a passion when I was pushing toy F1 cars around on the floor. This fanyboyism mentality is beyond belief and extremely tiring. This is what the sport has become. Paranoid and obsessed on the trivia because of a hunger for it created by a bunch of sad, lonely geeks. The BBC are impartial. They want a show. It doesn't matter whether it's Hamilton, Button or Uncle Tom f*cking Cobleigh.

The only thing they could be annoyed about is the insistence of some to go ON AND ON AND ON about it.

Full coverage of Hamilton talking to his race engineer! Trulli spun off in the 2nd to last corner, then Lewis let him by in the next lap & stayed behind Trulli till the end of the race! That I find terribly sad for Hamilton's engineer to lie about Trulli overtaking him illegaly under yellows!

Yes, yes, naturally.

After all, the driver that was the victim of Hamilton's latest antics was Trulli and what was sought out was his disqualificaiton... no biggy for the _born-again_F1_fans_ that NOW claim to care only about "pure" racing even though they've filled this forum with unending insults and violence.

Well, who the fck cares about someone like Trulli or what happens to him... is he even a driver, the lewisteric asks himself, what's all the fuss about...

Quali starting! :)

Anyone happen to know a live stream online? (BBC won't show outside UK, at least without tinkering with things a bit, and I'd rather not waste time with that right now)

Dribs - I think we all agree that the 'decor' is being discussed far too much and becoming invasive.

I would love to be able to concentrate purely on the racing.

As a long-time F1 follower, I hate the way the sport is being consumed by politics, bickering and whining.

Where we differ is that you would rather ignore all that and concentrate on what matters (I empathise - I really do), where as I fear that the petty politics is starting to matter more than the racing and to not discuss it would be (in a way) tantamount to complicity.

When stewards' opinions and decisions become more important to the final standings than the drivers and cars themselves, I begin to worry.

So you see, I'd rather not talk about all this diffuser bollocks, all the cheating McLaren bulls##t, the cost capping semi-spec series of the future, the stupid bloody WDC to be decided on wins idea, the constant restriction of true technological development. I really would rather forget all that s##t.

When I discuss the circus around every race, I do it with a bitter taste in my mouth. It's not that I want to be talking about it, it's that I find I have little other choice.
