Honda Rescued!

Recommended Posts

Wow. And I thought this thread couldn't get much more speculative and circular. :P

Oh, it could Graham....

Honda pulled out because there is no doubt they are destroying the world with carbon emissions, they really believe the Earth will super-heat and melt all humans in the next 3.2 years, which of course as we all know, is complete tosh.... the whole global warming... I mean, *guffaw*, 'climate change' (OK Yah) is a complete load of bollocks put about to give the scientists something to justify their existence with, and maure to laugh at and walk about a lot. The scientists have got it completely wrong, by using duff batteries in their calculators, but they can now command huge wages developing something else that 51% of scientists agree on. This week.

In the meantime, His Fryness has pitched the Protestant Church for sponsorship, and, being one of the oldest and richest cons institutions has agreed it will be a great medium for spreading the good word, so they're having 'The Last Supper' across the rear wing and baby Jesus on the front wing, 'cos he'll be lighter and he'll walk all over 'em in the wet.

Hearing of this, McLaren pitched a rich Ayrab (one that doesn't booze or shag outdoors, unless they're out of their own country or bribed someone) and they agreed to sponsor McLaren, using whichever God they choose for this month's bloody massacre in a country they don't happen like, as long as they support female circumcision.

Like a red rag to a Red Bull, Bush heard of this and has secured a late entry, resurrecting Penske and to be sponsored by the American tax payer, most of the dosh coming from schemes he's used for milking the poor to pay the middle class, but he's keen to get rid of it now to make Obam-ah-blew-up-kids look more like the Muslim he must be because the tabloids and some rag-heads said so.

The Pope has publicly forgiven Max Muesli for being raped by some women not dressed up in Nazi gear, on the condition that he helps Ferrari win the WDC and WCC for the next decade - Max laughs his c#ck off and finks, "HA! Daft twat, I do that anyway". He's also introduced taking a swig of Australian White and a nibble of a Jacobs Cracker during pit stops, which of course are being re-named, now called "Confession Stop". Kimi likes the idea and wants to run light next year, with lots and lots and lots of fill-ups. Hic.

I can't wait for next season :P

Cosworth? Alfa Romeo?? Dacia???? (oh wait they're owned by Renault)

If it is not a Merc, Renault or Toyota and Hyundai/Kia have lost interest, it could be as left field as Tata Daewoo or Suzuki. A big surprise would be VW/Audi.

AHA! It's Merc or the Bavarian Motorisch Workenhausen. I can feel it in my Becks. ;)

It's all right for you lot, my hopes are hanging by a nano carbon fibre thread :confused2:

After all the speculation, frustration and negotiation, it would appear that a management 'buy out' is now the clear favourite with Mercedes providing the power train. An official announcement will be made before the weekend, I am told. It makes sense, as I said a few weeks back. My understanding is that the Ferrari engine option was never discussed again after an initial 'sounding-out' by Ross Brawn - a ruse to disguise the real supplier, no doubt and typical of Brawnian strategy. Where the operating funds have come from is anyone's guess but I further understand that Honda were successfully persuaded that the current management's plans for the team were both robust and realistic in the long term - the key criterion for Honda. That's the scuttlebut today, folks. Let's hope the staff at Brackley keep their jobs and we have a full entry on the grid in Melbourne.

Appreciate the heads up.

Just curious though ....... What source?

Only yesterday you said they won't be on the grid because Ferrari seems to not be supplying engines.

I was referring to the management 'buy out' scenario? Whether I belive it or not is another matter. I report what I hear - I don't write fiction.

I'm not going to respond to anything further on this until something concrete is announced by the Frawn consortium. We have enough speculation to shake several hundred sh!tty sticks at.

I think I should expand on what I have written above. According to RealHondaF1.com, there is a real power struggle in full swing at Brackley and it would seem a senior manager has been dispatched from Tokyo to sort the situation out. Some people who work at the factory do contribute to that forum but you have take everything with a very large pinch of salt. The same sources speak of Fry sidestepping offers that don't put him in the driving seat of any new team. I have heard that from former colleagues who are monitoring the situation too. I would imagine they can buy engines from whomsoever they please as long as the funding is in place, as Norbert Haug said today. Ross tapped Ferrari - Fry tapped someone else, and so on. Fry is trying to stamp his authority on the engine deal and every other department. Fry cares about Fry - nothing else seems to matter to this selfish, egoistic cretin. We can now see how the team came to perform so badly in 2007/8. He is the epitome of a micro manager. This is the guy you hire if you want to expand your pizza business - he knows 'jack s##t' about racing. Compared to Brawn, he is a lowly 'chancer'. DR found that out to his cost. It is because of the 'Fry Factor' that I fear the matter will become more and more protracted and to my great sorrow, the team will probably miss Melbourne.

...unless, of course, you hear fiction.

Hilarious! Of course, I do. F1 is all smoke and mirrors or didn't you know?

May I quote you on that? I could really use that phrase at some other thread.

Weren't Audi interested in going into F1?? I guess they lost interest & focused more on winning Le Mans!

Mercedes ready to consider engine deal with Honda

mclaren.jpgAfter Ferrari publicly denied interest in supplying the Honda F1 team with engines for the 2009 season, it seems that there still might be hope for the Brackley based squad with Mercedes being open to a posible engine supply deal between the two. But in todays weak and fragile economy, Mercedes must be sure that the deal is financially sound and reliable, says president Norbert Haug.

"If there is a feasible solution with an investor for that team, we would be prepared to discuss it," Haug commented to 'autosport', "But the financial feasibility is very important. It needs to be 100 per cent bulletproof."

Haug also had this to say about the companies ability to take on another powetrain customer; "This is not ideal timing. We have lots to do with KERS and the new rev limit and so on, which is a really big task."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really didn't get it, does this mean that the KERS developed by Honda last year will go down the drain?
