No, not for ages, but its a competition between local insurance companies. I'm in a team of 4 drivers, should be fun even if we dont win!!!

trouble is even if i am very fast, i'm in a team of 4 (1 of whom is about 55 years of age) and chances are slim that all 4 of us are brilliant - so my aim is just to not mess it all up and just do the best i can!

When's you posting the results? How was the experience?

I drove a go-kart only once in my life. Paid a small fortune to get a single s#itty lap. It was too oversteery. Crashed into the tyre barriers too often.

Is it an outdoor circuit with twin engined karts? You'll have a blast Jem. Just keep the times consistent and don't fall off.

What does 'endurance' mean to a Briton? I just completed a 4hr 2-man race, finishing third, behind only the people who worked at the track.

If it's a corporate event it's probably a 2 hour race, Dan.

ps congrats on your placing

good luck and don't forget to brake :P

You don't need to brake... I once completed the last 20 laps of a race with a snapped brake cable.

Take note of the speeds if you can. We were doing about 40kph on the straights last Sunday which is bloody fast for an indoor event...

Break a Leg Jem... OPPS that is for actors only. Good Luck to you, anyone know if ITV or SpeedTV has coverage for us to watch live :D , I hate those tape delayed races, someone always gives it away...

Is Murray calling the race for you guys over there...

well guys i'm bruised and battered this morning, it was immense fun but 1 thing's for sure, this motor racing lark isnt as easy as it looks!!! i set the 5th fastest lap of about 40 drivers which i'm proud of, but my team came 6th out of 11 teams - still it was great and i would definately do it again, although I feel like i've been on a night out and got hit by a car

I used to rent Go-Karts in my country and the first time I tried one was in the night and I remember that in the morning I woke up like if I had a big workout in a gim, all my body hurting and I just drove it for 20 minutes or less so I know what you mean and I'm sure of all the fun you had.

I got one question, Did the other members of your team were among those four who set a lap faster than you?
