While I'll watch some serious fare I'd much rather watch an independant film or a 'B' movie, something with t@a and funny lines.

Yes. A good movie, not unforgettable, but nice to watch, nonetheless

I watched "The Prestige" yesterday. It's an outstanding movie about two magicians at odds with each other.  Superb direction & superb acting.. I could guess only a part of the movie's end. If you watch the movie, you'll find that the black cat shown in one scene is perhaps a metaphor(Murray Walker's favourite word) in two ways.

It's a must see movie!

"Days of Thunder", it's crap but good at the same time if you get what I'm saying. (I'm sure you do  ) And a plus is that Nicole Kidman (Dr. Claire Lewicki) is in "Days of Thunder"

Ha, great film. I know exactly what you mean, trashy but really fun. The cop stripper scene is funny and Robert Duvall is a master.

I saw "The Illusionist" . It's a fantastic movie about how a magician ....well you see the movie to find out what he does.

Also saw "Ghost Rider". Fun movie with plenty of nice special effects. Should have had more action. Eva Mendes is va-va-voom.

as a big Michael Jackson fan I watched 'Moonwalker' the other day. It is by far the worst film I have ever seen. It is beyond abysmal, its like its deliberately bad. The dancing and the music are great (of course) but the story is barely even a story, its just atrocious, I was shocked, I still am. You couldnt make a crapper 'film', its not even really a film

Instead of watching a movie starring a paedophile who's undergone a million surgeries ,why don't you watch "The Prestige" & "The Illusionist"? Trust me, superb movies both.

I don't know what's more unsettling: "Moonwalker" movie or the fact that you are not supporting Westlife anymore. :eusa_think:

hey i will always support westlife, i just got rid of the sig cos it was out of date, in fact i think it may have even been incorrect, as westlife dont appear to have released any single.

anyhoo back to films, i watched moonwalker cos i've always been a big fan of MJ (NOT a paedophile!) but the movie was woefully bad, in every possible way. Except for the music & dancing.

i would like to see ghost rider but dont have any money at the mo!

Just came back from Wild Dogs and 300

Wild Dogs is allright (kinda funny but nothing too great)

but 300 was awesome everybody should see it but it does have nudity and a lot of blood(a guy has to go and see it women/children might not be a good idea unless you like to give explainations...) I would rate gladiator and 300 on the same level, both amazing and must watch movies

That's because i kidnapped them and have them in a crate in my cellar. I play a loop to them 24 7 of all the original versions of all the songs they have ruined. I feed them bread and water and occasionally poke them with something sharp through the slats of the crate.

"but"?

And yeah, Labrado, it's based on a real story maybe?  Wouldn't mind reading up on it if so.

The special effects are crazy, it has to be made on some good consoles, like  maybe 2-3 xbox 360's.

AHhh so it is based on historical facts, actually! I never heard of that movie and was wondering why it was named "300" which reminded me of the number of spartans at Thermopylae (now I see why). Well, If it's based based in that battle, then certainly theere were not a million Persians opposing them
[rant] If it is a Hollywood movie, then don't believe ANYTHING in it, as they have a tradition of ignoring almost everything about historical facts, yet they love to do every now and then "historical" movies. I have no idea why they insist in distorting facts so much. You could say the movies look great and they certainly do ("Gladiator" comes to mind) But when they consistently distort facts so much, it would be better to just put them in some fantasy land than trying to pass those fairy tales as history. GRRRRR. Yes, it p**ses me off because many people actually thinks those are facts! Gladiator is pure BS no matter how good it may look, and has only the slightest connection with the real emperors Marcus Aurelius and Comodus. Not to mention the few times they tried to show something about my country! Why couldn't they at least read a little about a country before portraying it? They used to portray Argentinians as a mix between Mexicans and Spanish, complete with Flamenco suits and saying "Ole!"....geez, how ignorant can they be??? [/rant]

Ok someone is p**sed with the director of Gladiator, guess who?

but 300 is agaain a very beutiful movie (so much blood and the graphics are mind boggling and those nude scenes also help in increasin ratings)

but what did you think of Troy?(personally i did not like it) but i think it was quite a bit based on facts, (if i am wrong :eekout: before next rant)

Troy is based on Homer's Illyad (not Homer Simpson, but Homer the Greek). It is an epic poem loosely based on facts (there acxtually was a war between the Greeks and Troy, of course of a much smaller scale...ancient historians used to exaggerate the numbers of troops) The movie was losely based on the epic poem so you can imagine how much  of historical exactitude it has

I was watching a show on the history channel the other night it said the movie was made based on a novel "300" and it was written based on the Battle of Thermopylae but told as you might if you were telling over a campfire. The way I always watch these movies is as if they are completely fiction. It makes it better that way.

A boss battle or two.’ A Formula One game in which, suddenly, everybody else has a monster truck and their sole desire is to squash you. But you can't expect them to report just facts, otherwise it will be a flop. coz ppl want a love story in every movie, if no love story no hit (pretty much)
I don't expect them to report just facts, but at least do a minimum research so as not to make something completely preposterous and, even worse, something that changes the perception many people has how those civilizations were. When they do a movie about the 1930's gangsters they don't make them look like cowboys or astronauts, right? Don't get me wrong, I don't ask for a documentary on ancient Greece, but at least don't mix them with the Roman Empire! Would be the same if you made a movie in which the Sioux built pyramids!
