goferrarigo 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Yes, I understand you're point mate Of course Fernando is the better driver. Maybe close over a single lap with Mark being fractionally quicker but over a race distance Fernando is better without question. Mark is bloody quick and would do the business given the right car I have no doubt but in saying that half of the grid are in the same category. Fingers crossed we will get the opportunity to see him in a truly competitive car before too long where he can show us exactly what he is made of. I knew you would be objective and not let your nationalism cloud you... For me its unbiased anyway as I hate Lewis and I hate having to admit he's a superb racing driver. The ****!!! I do think now though it is very much Alonso=Hamilton=Kimi>Jenson>Rosberg=Massa>Webber=Kovalainen et al! That looks like some sort of mathmatical equation! Though that tends to be my current opinion on the best 8 drivers in F1! I would put Kimi, Hammy and Nando on the highest level, Massa a bit lower but catching up, then Button, Kubica, Rosberg et all
Jenson_Rules 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 I would of course expect a Ferrari fan to place Massa above Button, but the fact remains, Button is the better driver so you are of course very wrong! Heidfeld is the other driver I forgot, he should slot in with Massa and Rosberg. Why you believe Kubica is better than Heidfeld is a bit beyond me too! But never mind, not all F1 fans on this forum can be as accurate as me!
aussief1 4 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 The easiest way is by the way of having classes. So the Class A drivers I my book would be: In no particular order Fernando Lewis Kimi Class B: Jenson Felipe Mark Nick Robert Nico Heikki Class C: David Jarno Ralf Giancarlo Rubens Sebastian Vettel Adrian Class D: Timo Kazuki Sebastian Bourdais Agree???? Oli 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Depends on the team. For example I think DC is far more valuable to a new-ish team like Red Bull than he was to McLaren. If you're just talking pure speed then I'd broadly agree, although (at the risk of opening past wounds) I'm still not terribly convinced about RK. Next year hopefully he'll prove me wrong. And Ralf should be in a class of his own (Class E). Actually I've changed my mind- I disagree with everything in that list :-)
Max Mosley 2 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 A consensus simply determines what we all agree on, not what actually is. Even a group of Scientologists can reach a consensus. Agreed. What we need is an option on the forum to get "Murray's view". Mark is bloody quick and would do the business given the right car I have no doubt but in saying that half of the grid are in the same category. Fingers crossed we will get the opportunity to see him in a truly competitive car before too long where he can show us exactly what he is made of. I do think now though it is very much Alonso=Hamilton=Kimi>Jenson>Rosberg=Massa>Webber=Kovalainen et al! Good posts! Oli's point about it depending on the team is true too. elgo 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 My top 4 are: Alonso-Raikkonen-Hamilton-Kubica And Ralf should be in a class of his own (Class E).

Grabthaw the Hammerslayer 4 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Agree???? Not a bad list... only comments: There should be a class C and a half in which Ralf sits and possibly Bourdais (as he is unknown in terms of his F1 potential).
Quiet One 15 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Not a bad list... only comments:There should be a class C and a half in which Ralf sits and possibly Bourdais (as he is unknown in terms of his F1 potential). Leave it that way. Ralf has no class, anyways.
mikathegreat2 2 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Ok. if you guys are that adament in saying Webber is better than Alonso. Have a poll and we see the results of the consenous, rather than having each person write their answerI vote Nando!

Yes, we do have some drivers on the fringe, Ralf is somewhere between a C & D but I gave him a C out of respect because he has shown what he can do given all the right ingredients (OK maybe only once or twice in his career). Same can be said about Jarno in all honesty. You're right about Sebastian Bourdais, he is a very high D and has potential to show, so he has a chance of moving on up. Why you believe Kubica is better than Heidfeld is a bit beyond me too! But never mind, not all F1 fans on this forum can be as accurate as me! Button is better in the rain no doubt but else i think your nationality clouds your judgement and my bais clouds mine... About Nick i Agree he can be with Massa & Rosberg... I feel Kubica is better because in his 1.3 seasons has fought very hard and gotten quite unlucky at crucial times, while i am not saying Nick sucks, but if i ahd an option to hire either one of them, it would be Kubica, as he is younger and has personally impressed me.. Agree???? Yeah, that seems about right...

Nowadays people travel around so much you can find Scouser-born-and-bred girls living in any city. That's rich coming from a woolly back! Liverpool may be many things, but never a ho-town. Besides it's a city and a very unique one at that. We are the only city in England to have 2 cathedrals. And we have the largest organ in the UK. Cathedral organ, obviously. Not to mention the wonderful creativity and sparkling wit that Scousers are reknowned for, of which I am a shining example Where are you from again
